Got me a new tool.

Whilst it's unfortunate that many of my old slides were lost as a result of circumstances beyond my control, there's still thousands that are not.

Today I got me a new scanner that can convert a whole bunch of slides to digital images in one hit. It can also do negatives and since there's even more of them than slides, maybe I can make this thread as long as OldCol's Anniversary job.

Here's a couple of shots of the latest state of the art speedway machinery from a few days back.......

And a few more from various motor racing events. This first one is the start line at Phillip Island.

Before there were Mustangs, the Jaguars dominated Aussie Touring Car racing......

Sandown Park..........

Of course before the Jag's there were these things....

And eventually this little giant killer.....

And some race cars are just straight up prettier than others.

Sectioned shoebox Fords were relatively common back in the early fifties (in the USA), but to slice a brand new '55 Caddy thru the middle was a major chore.

This one was delivered brand spanking new from the Caddy dealer directly to the Barris Kustom shop..........

Mrs Carp's old Pontiac was pretty much all stock Bonneville.

Another one that for some reason I never got 'round to modifying, wasn't real fast but great handling made for a fun gymkahna car.

From the very last ever Banzai Rodders Tally Ho Show, Butch's FJ in black.

Also, Marke Plumers radical custom FJ......

John Ziegler's customised HJ Ute after it's third rebuild, it was only a two year old car at this time having been first customised when it was brand new.

How about a Barn Find? Any ideas what it is?

A couple of show cars that Old Col and Kris may be able to throw some light on. Note the Exhibition Buildings have not yet undergone restoration.

Speaking of customised shoebox Fords, this one is no more, having been involved in a major road accident......

This old Mk1 Zephyr is just too kool.
Jag engine transplant, FC Holden headlamp rims and Wolsely 24/80 grilles in the fenders, suggest 1960s. The new HJ Holden dates this shot at around '74/5.

Travelled heaps of miles in this old gurl. My good buddy Mike Keeh's '41 Chevy Sedan delivery.

And his stroked 440 Mopar powered deuce..........

I'll never forget the time we were in this and got pulled up by a very angry cop.
Not because it was unroadworthy or we were doin' anything wrong, but because the cop was a cat lover.
The license plate frame reads across the top: "Cats Flattened" and across the bottom: "While You Wait".

Here's a few more recent pics, from the mid '90s NSRA Nat's, Columbus, Ohio.

About the coolest and lowest '40 coupe I ever saw.

I found the answer to that elusive question..... according to the license plate, this is one.

So is this....

This may also be one.....

Many thanks for sharing those great pics with us Carps.

Very intreresting and will no doubt be enjoyed by many here! Smile

My self included.

Remember those Wolsely 24/80 grilles.

A lot of humpys had them grafted into the front guards.

Like Monaro flutes are often used in the same fashion.

Mick.
