I have to agree with your line of thought Marcus.....a little out of the door and a bit more into the b pillar, I think will give it more balance and a better proportion....
but.....whatever you do will be fine....it is your car :D

This might help picture what I am thinking of changing it too.

This is a rough photo chop of a cab I have made similar cab changes too to what I have done, but have also shortened the door and added the length back into the B pillar.

Marcus

I read this earlier and thought that it was hard to tell without the rest of the pieces. So tended to agree with the "more Mock up" opinions.
But having seen your photo shop I have changed my mind.
The heavier "B" pillar looks good. For what it is worth I think you should shorten the door and add some to the pillar.
But as has been said many times, it is your car do what you are happy with.

maybe mock up the driving seat in position to get a prospective from the inside as well. if you make the B pillar bigger it may reduce your side vision.

You probably need to do another completish mock up as has been said. In my opinion the 'golden ratio' has been messed with ie the door is visually too long for the b pillar. It looks more balanced in your photochop though. Also the photochop doesn't give any indication of how the width change has altered the overall look.

You did ask for opinions

Hi Marcus

I think the extra 50mm added to the B pillar, would make the proportions look better. It would give the little bit of straight side section meeting the door, instead of the rear curved shape. When you look at fj45's and othe pick ups, that little extra on the B pillar looks better compared to some of the truck cabs that just curve around to the door.
Which everway you go, I think you will still make it look good.

Looks great. Beefier B pillar could make it even better.

What's an extra week or two on a 10 year project! That is the way I look at it. I'd rather take longer and not be annoyed by it later.
