Engine mounts 350 Chev into Ford 1932

Post by Wayne32 »

Hi there I have a 1932 Ford I am building and need to lift the 350 Chev motor up about at the front about 15/20mm Any Ideas would be appreciated. Is there an engine mount that is higher than the standard mount. :?:

Don't quite follow what your trying to do, but these are what Im planning on using, along with a gennie Hurst front cradle mount.

Is this to lift up an existing install ?.

Assuming none.

Depends on which method you use starting from scratch.
Two methods that I know that are the simplest to "adjust".

There is a commercial "U" style under sump tube mount that is available . Where you fit the mounting flanges inside the chassis rails determines height.

Front saddle type similar in principle to the one depicted on the link, except that is constructed in a different design with more material lower on the outer extremeties with right angle tabs protruding forward that will sit on donut mounts fitted in the stock position on early Ford chassis. I have used this method with Cortina engine mounts for Chev in a 35 Ford. Similarly a Y Block Ford in a 32 Ford I had used similar set up. You can raise this style obviously with spacers. Or use Jag mounts that are taller.

If this is any help.

Frank.

Have a look at the Chev engine mount kit in the members for sale section, you could remove the existing mount and install them higher on the rail for a clean solution

Weld a foot onto either side for SV engine mounts and/or modify to suit your chassis.
