Toyota Diff Ratio's

Guy's, we have a great list detailing the Hilux diff ratio's in the Tech Section, thanx Hyporx, but can someone tell me how to tell the diff ratio of a Hiace? Do they use the same numbering system on the ID plate as Hilux or is the ratio detailed in another manner?
I am putting a Hilux diff under the Steel Rack (until I can afford to modify my Quickchange to suit), but the ratio is a bit out for the poor old sidevalve/auto combination at present.

I talked to some diff people who built Hilux diffs and the best the could do was 1:3.5 the wreakers I rang said the some thing.
A 4sp O'drive g'box might fix the problem.

How tall a rear tyre will you be using?
What is the ratio of top gear on your auto?
Current diff ratio?

There are calculators out there that will tell you everything you need to know.
They'll even show you how a 1" rise in tyre diametre can alter hwy cruising speeds.

It's a science and the old "hey mate, that's the wrong bloody gearing" just don't cut it anymore.

Not up to that stage yet Caleb, just trying to find out if there is some easy way to find the ratio of a Hiace diff without counting teeth while climbing amongst a pile of cars in the wreckers is all mate. I know there is nothing close available in the Hilux range, so have to go look at Hiace. I believe there is also a diff centre from the car range which will bolt into the Hilux diff housing, but I shall persue that one if I can't find a Hiace to suit.

The list that Hyporx put up does the hi-ace as well. Depends on what ratio you are looking for. Best i could find is 4.3 which is what i am running in the 37
