It's Leon's former '23 T Bucket. Lovely car and very distinctive, with huge Rims, Blue Paint and Chromed everything. (former Vic Hotrod Show "Top Bucket" winner).
You'd think it'd stand out in the crowd.
I hope they find the A Holes and they get what they deserve.

I hate thieves, what are they going to do with it. Other than strip it to sell the parts. Just have to keep an eye out.
I had 2 cars stolen anEscort from outside work back in the 70,s and a HQ sedan in the early 80,s from my sister in laws locked unit garage (but they caught those 2 pricks. But they don,t charge them with theft, because you can,t prove that they were not going to return it. So they were charged with "using a convaice without the owners permission". Even though they wrote it off.)
Then one week later my wife,s Falcon from outside a TAFE while she done a microwave cooking class. They are just not hard enough with the penalties in the courts.

Cheers GT.

I'd just like to ask, who the hell steals a Hot Rod? These things are all so well known it must be next to impossible to fence either the car or parts off a car. Yep, I know, a 350 Chev is a 350 Chev, but every engine has little differences that Rodders pick up on and I don't reckon there'd be much of a market for Turbo 400's down the local pub, especially a finely detailed one. Sort of leaves you with the idea this stuff is being sold to car guys and that would be a very hard pill to swallow. My guess is it's car guys who are doing the lifting though. I mean, who would buy a fully detailed 350 Chev engine from a spaced out druggie???????

I can understand American muscle car's being swiped. That's easy, you pinch the car, drive it to a storage yard, stick it in a container and it's gone. Get your timing right and within 24 hours a hot Camaro or Mustang has gone from it's parking space and is on the high seas bound for America. 3 months later its LHD and on Ebay with a dodgy Title, but a Hot Rod is a bit more individual than a Muscle Car, surely??

I personally know of only one Hot Rod that was stolen and that was during a marriage breakup

I was talking to a guy who had his new excavator stolen and never found. 2 years later he was on holiday in Bali when he drove past his excavator with his sign writing still on it and he couldnt do a thing about it.

Grazza the orange Tudor " Thrsty" stolen from security parking at Coolyrocks has never been found. Was a big $ Rod. The owner has built a Tuff V8 XP coupe and TMR reissued the plates.

A nice A Model roadster went missing in the ACT a few weeks ago. Very distinctive bright orange with blown motor. Seen in Wollongong shortly thereafter but no more sightings and insurance have paid out. It's possibly sitting in a garage under a tarp and seems to me it will turn up sooner or later whole or in parts. I betcha the cops have a short list of likely suspects but getting them to act.....

Back in the 70,s I had a very strong y block with a fabricated twin 4 barrel manifold ,I sold the engine to mates down Hastings way , the manifold & carbies got pinched , Anyhow recently after 40 years my manifold appears for sale on facebook I asked some questions & the post vanished .Just goes to show anything modified can be identified...

Asking questions in that scenario is like a copper yelling "Hey" to a known suspect someone 100 meters away . They get a head start and dis appear . Stealth and patience is the key to catching your quarry . I learnt the hard way.
My daughter had her Commodore stolen some 17 years ago from our driveway ,around 3am one morning , I heard the staring attempts and went out to see it drive off . I roused the household The silliest thing I have ever did was to phone the police .They were useless . I should have gone after it ,initially with lights off would have seen where it went turning into a dead end road . It ended up in a bush reserve near by in our estate . ,so the intent was to strip it . Noting location . We could have ambushed the mongrel . We would have left him there to be found by bush walkers the next day ,either that or report it ,claiming we approached and were threatened   . The police called about an hour later on the phone taking details . Two days later at 10 pm we get a call "Your car has been found" .Gave us the location and told us to contact the council for access to it . The reserve has a large padlocked treated pine locked gate for access . . Stuff waiting . My son turned up and we dismantled the gate . rolled/pushed the vehicle home . The clock had stopped 4.15 am when they removed the battery . I actually did my own detective work next day and discovered that local knowledge had this vehicle with mirrors folded in would fit through an opening on a walk access between upright poles as bollards
Useless Police .......... We spoke to the person from the house nearby who actually found it whilst walking his dog ..........He had contacted them at 5pm . Took 5 hours to tell us   . Knox Police . Then here is the sting. I go down to the station and enquire . Policewoman asks for the report . "NO I do not have one" ."You must it is on our system" . I explained about the phone contact and she said "we do not do that" . I then insisted on the vehicle being finger printed , as the mirrors were handled and we did not touch them later , the weather was balmy over those days with no local dew fall . At least they did this for us. . Lesson learnt . We should have "watched and acted" in the first place .Near by to where the car was is a place that should have been of "Police interest" . Occupants had a history of criminal activity .
