If you joined John Knobel on a surfing expedition, in his gleaming 58 FC Holden, the only condition was that you helped him wash and clean it out afterwards. Here’s a photo of John and his friends, far from their Bondi homes, sorting out a puncture on the northern beaches in the early 1960s. Cars were pretty special in those days.

That is one cool pic. Imagine if the tyres were down and it had some seagull shit on it, it would look like it had been parked and left there for 60 years. Thanks for posting.

As I drive to work each day, I go past a retro/funky type surf shop called SugarMill - I think this guy works there as this wagon is out the front most mornings.

So, it is a true 'Surf Wagon'

Here,s mine.
busy getting it ready for blue slip. She had no wipers or front door glass. seem's it never rains in Southern California.
