Just to add to what others have already said, a BIG thank you to both of you. This is really the type of thread that gets my attention. Very clean work with a nice execution of the assembling. Have you repaired the door structures yet?

Hi Pete, How is the North Coast...The `35 Roadster hasn't seen much progress lately, however, I did use the cowl to mock up and use for a guide for what the Ute lower cowl needed to look like

Thanks for the quick reply. Obviously the door was in good enough shape to allow you to set the gap between the trailing edge of the door and the front of the 1/4 panel before repair.
Thanks again

Pete,
were you speaking of the build that went to Yamba, how are you progressing with that, I haven't seen it...

PS, If you are stuck between a rock and a hard place with it, give me a call, I did get a subliminal twitch that you were not getting progress...

Wow

What a great response to the first 'Team Lone Star' thread 8)

I am very glad that this has been a worthwhile exercise and been well recieved. As you can see it is far easier for Stuart to contribute further content to an already existing thread.

I started this thread with 'and so it begins' and yes it has. I will continue to grow this thread as often as I can as this ute build is the tip of the iceberg in regard to worthy content to post. As discussed I will start other threads that are more specific to topics eg Pullmax, English Wheel, sand bag, hammers and so on. Cords is a gun welder, as is Stuart and a thread dedicated to different types of welding could be valid. And on it will go.........

Any suggestions on content that relates to someone's build they are stuck with??

Thanks Guys excellent material & content! :D With the filler pieces in the rear, it looks like you spot welded them to the tube? Any more info Please?

Hi Rog,

The YouTube link above shows the spot weld process, it is an inverter machine that has the capacity to weld different thicknesses to correctly prepared tube,

The join is sprayed with a zinc rich weld through primer before welding, then the cavity is filled with an anti flutter foam to avoid crap/ moisture getting in there.
