Edelbrock 500 CFM carb

Post by Grazza »

Anyone have any experience with these carby's? Better or worse than the Holley ones?
Just going on good reports of the larger size carbs, I was thinking of fitting one to a 253 Holden project I have on the go.

Gday, have one on my 351 clevo powered 81 bronco,(electric choke etc.) It came with the car, but I swapped it out for 600 vac sec holley I had spare(new), but yeah couldn't get it right, so then got the edelbrock rebuilt locally and put it back on, runs great.
cheers

I am running a 465 Holley on my 302 and it is perfect ,think the 500 might be a bit big for a 253 maybe a 350 holley might be ok ,give you a bit better mileage .I have run a Edelbrock and they are a great carb

I've been running an Edelbrock 500 on a daily driven Hudson Hornet engine for about 18 years now. I've never had any issues with it. I think you can make more power with a Holley, but I like the Edelbrock because I never have to mess with it. It seems I'm always messing with the Holleys when I use them.
