Yes mate, as long as it is manufactured (the drilled section of the axle is twice as thick as a non-drilled one) & yes, I believe so - our guidelines are pretty straight forward. Mine is classed as an original / modified chassis.
Managed to make a start on my engine crossmember / engine mount brackets this arvo.

Just wondering how the tac look at your mounts ,i always thought the mounts were to be welded to the chassis and the tube that is supposed to catch the engine if the mount connection fails would be separate to the mounts ,but your mounts are welded to the tube ,so if the tube fails the engine falls on the road ,or am i missing something here, not knocking your work ,just wondering is all

I just bought a tube with mounts on it from a reputable person and all he said I had to do was weld some pads on below the mount. I hope this is right.

i'm going to put holes in my engine mount tube /crossmember with like crush tubes from front to back
to give it the look of weight reduction like your front axle

Hello All - its been at least 7 months since I've actually touched the chev but the weather has cooled down, the kids are a bit older so it's time to get stuck in - no excuses now haha.
The engine mount pictured above is about a third finished - it is going to be flanged & have crush tubes through the chassis. The reason for the 3mm bit of plate between the boxing plate & the crossmember was to help mock up the angles ( best clearance under the sump).
I'm sooo looking forward to getting a bit done

Re: 1941 Chev pickup - The $5K challenge
I was only discussing the theory of a $5 000 challenge with a mate a couple of days ago. I'm sure it's possible.
I wonder how this one went. Was a great start!

I think mr cool came close with his chev rpu, a 5k challenge would be a fun way to kick start the forum again, that’s for sure.
