Best of luck with your back. Suffering too right now.

It's a running 161cu inch flathead 6 with a 3-speed gearbox, I will make up headers for it and would like twin carbs.rx4ord wrote:Tell us more about the flatty G.

The last 200mm of my lower spine is riddled with arthritis and I am booked in for a scan in the next few weeks. Last year I had a quarterzone injection which worked for about 8 months but cannot have another till later this year.

Did you get anything else with your Hudson frame? Like springs, shackles, all that stuff? We have parted out a few early Hudsons (25,27,and 29), and may have all that stuff. Also, I have friends in New Zealand and Australia with Hudsons of this era who likely have these items as well.

Looks like you are using fluxcore gassless welding wire ,just be careful with the fumes it gives off when welding ,they are really not good for your health ,use a P2 or P3 respirator with the charcoal filter ,hope your back gets better soon mate ,nothing worse

Yes I am using fluxcore, I weld with an open shed door and the gases dissipate fairly well.monte wrote:Looks like you are using fluxcore gassless welding wire ,just be careful with the fumes it gives off when welding ,they are really not good for your health ,use a P2 or P3 respirator with the charcoal filter ,hope your back gets better soon mate ,nothing worse

Hi Big G: What springs are you adapting? Or do you have the original Hudson jobbies?Big G wrote:I have everything for the frame but am adapting the front /rear spring set up.hudson nut wrote:Big G

I went down that path with my Essex. Eventually after trying to adapt rubber bushes etc, I decided that it would be better just to use the standard bronze bushes that came with the Essex. - Then I put a HQ rear end under it using the HQ mounts bushes etc.
Yeah. I've changed my signature. The old one was out of date...
