Great pix MM, so good to see all those Humpies still going round n round! Red number 95 Humpy actually gets a little bit of fame in the current(October) issue of Street Machine.

That's the style of racing to watch. Can't stand the boring Supercar circus. I've been watching some of the Goodwood festival stuff on YouTube. Good close racing.
Shirley you must be joking? I'm not, and don't call me Shirley.

Number 11 Gowans Toyota Celica runs a mid mount Repco Formula 5000 engine. Very nice rig.

Always be careful Mr D, you never know where photos will end up!!!!MickD wrote:You got me back on in a couple of those photos there Mitch! (The Ol' Bugger with the Ford racing jacket in the 4th & 6th pic).
That old no 46 racer was built in about '38 by a bloke named Vic Johnson for "The Seven Mile Beach races" that they used to have back in the day. I believe he bought the 32 chassis unused out if the box in '38 & fabricated the body himself. It's still running a 59A with twin carbs & a 4 speed box - can't remember what the box is out of, but I think it came along later.
I remember seeing it in a dusty corner of old Vic's workshop in the late 60's when I was with my dad who was chasing some parts for his Cusso. Old Vic wouldn't part with anything to folks he didn't' know, but eventually Don Langdon bought it off him.
After a few years it went to a museum down Ranalagh way before ending up in Queensland under what I'm told were probably dubious circumstances. Finally ended up with the bloke who owns it now. He's from either Canberra or Sydney I think. He's done the right thing with it and he tells me he drove it all the way down to Tassie (it's road registered).
Something about that Ol girl that draws me to it whenever I see it. Luv it!
