Re: Project 56 F100
Just came out of hospital after a full knee replacement so mrs won’t let me touch it cause she caught me almost asleep in the seat, them drugs kick in and out for a few days after surgery, I can’t wait to get back to it, booked in on the 26th for the dyno.
Another hot rod tragic told me when you’ve done 95% you only got 95% to go!
I was going to go with all black interior with cow skin swabs, but I’m thinking of light brown leather same colour as my F250 King Ranch which they call Chaparel, oh the pain of 1st world decisions.

Re: Project 56 F100
Hi Folks
So close yet so far, had some issues with the flex plate meant the engine had to come out, that’s when I found out that putting the donk in the chassis then dropping on the cab doesn’t guarantee the engine is simple to get out with the cab on, so I pulled the box and donk and put in a removable engine cross member, then it’s all back together and start on the trim.
Picked up a sewing machine, needed some work is an understatement and started on the seat, I done a motor trimming course more than 20 years ago and figured I can do this…..well it’s not as simple as it seems, I was quite rusty and you could say inaccurate, so lots of practice and learning to stitch and unstitching and restitching then unstitching then throwing the material cause it’s got too many stitch tracks then starting again, in hindsight it was lots of fun, but at the time frustrating and tons of swearing and do it all again.
Luvhev.

Re: Project 56 F100
You're right with the so close and so far...
But you are a LOT closer than Farther than some of us!
Really looks fab mate. Nice work. Great attention to detail.
I never cease to be impressed with how professional rods are these days. By professional I mean like the factory did it (or maybe "should" have done it)
And.... Nice to see someone else still on the forum!

Yeah. I've changed my signature. The old one was out of date...

Re: Project 56 F100
Sorry to hear of your troubles with your flex plate.
Glad you have it sorted now.
Learning a new craft can be as frustrating and it is rewarding in the end. Well done with sticking with it.

Re: Project 56 F100
Hi Everyone
Been nearly a year since I last posted, not too much progress on this project but I’m back into it again, hope I can finally get it over the line, just got some new back treads to give it the look I’ve been after, waited almost a year for these to become available, they are 305/50/20 in a highway pattern.
