I think it looks a bit too much having the two Willys words/signs stacked on top of each other.

I quite liked the offset number plate. it was different as is your car.

The double name stack is why I didn't do it in the first place, but being offset bothered me more. I didn't mind it when I had the short slimline WLLYS plate, but not the one I have now.
It is very easy to remove the paint from the Willys Script bumper, and might look at doing that if it bothers me. It would then just leave the script embossed in the chrome instead. I haven't even seen it out of the garage yet!

Hi Marcus,
Will you be taking it completely apart to paint?
Ever thought of painting it yourself?
With your approach to this project how could it be anything less than perfect.

How about a black 2k epoxy primer and industrial 2k black topcoat for the chassis?
would that be more prone to chipping?

Just some thoughts.

Plan now is to paint chassis and running gear ourselves as well as under the floors and guards. My wife will do the painting as I can't be around the paint for very long at all. Will be completely stripped and only the panels that need colour will be taken to a painter later this year.

I remember a photo of your wife painting the side of the garage and you saying you can't be around the fumes.

I wish I had that problem. I get to do all the painting in our household.

Don't know about that. I'd rather she did all the prep work, like I do now, and I only did the painting! A lot more satisfying. ;)

I liked it offset, that was a feature of older cars, these days everything is mirror image.

At least yours looks a little more symmetrical than this Picasso car

Awesome, glad you liked it.
We were gone for hours as caught the free shuttle bus to the Sunday Market and walked around the town and got lunch. We love these little country towns.

New plates! I was not allowed to get a slimline version of my plates, so bought a set that I could! Order them in the new liquid metal finish. Will run the new full sized plate on the rear.

Image
Much better balanced now and not competing with the grille. Think the Willys script in the bumper is a bit much though directly underneath it.

Image
Easy fix to remove the black from the Willys bumper script. A few minutes work with some acetone and it is nice and subtle now.

I reckon you better get started on the next build. :D You're overthinking this one now, lol. I do really admire your attention to detail though.
