New Club South Coast NSW
Custom Rodders is a club fromed by a group of long time freinds to cater for Hot rods & Customs from Batemans Bay to Narooma. We are being affiliated with the ASRF and plan to be a very relaxed social club with only 4 meetings per year, leaveing lots of time for fun with cars. I am the President so if anyone in the area would like more info send me a PM.
Our next outing will be to the South Coast Nationals in Moruya on Aug 25-26

Sandhust street rodders will be haveing a get together this coming saturday in Bendigo the 27th october for all past members, it starts off with Kev's breakfast in view street Bendigo .

Here's a couple pics of my ol' mans club plaques from back in the day.

First one is Southern Beaches 1965 plaque. He also has his original burgundy Southern Beaches jacket too which is pretty cool. I don't have a pic of it, or it unfortunately but he has it tucked away safe n sound.



The next one is his Confederates plaque which he was in after Southern Beaches. Not sure of the date, but I know he was still in Southern Beaches in 1968, so probably not too long after that? He had a pretty wildly customised 53 customline aroudn 1967/68 that I am trying to do some research on too so will put up what I know in the other thread about old custom cars.

I made this up for Terry from of the the cards he had.

I'm in Toowomba Hotrodders - been filling the shoes of the treasurer for the last 3 years now.

Toowoomba Hot Rodders was formed in 1996 when the members of the Toowoomba Street Rodders and the Over the Hill Gang decided that the city wasn’t big enough for two clubs. From that time the club has grown to the point where presently we have 26 members. The club is very family orientated with wives and children being involved in most activities. Our members attend most runs wether they local or interstate. We also have our monthly runs, such as a breakfast, coffee, runs etc. Our main feature of the year is our “High Altitude Rod Run” which is now into its thirteenth year - we have 100 hot rods + from across the state and NSW attend at the weekend.

The Club meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm QuickFit Tyres Neil Street Toowoomba. Visitors and new members are welcome.

G, day all I have been a member of Eastern Districts Hot rod Club for 20 plus years. The club is said to be the oldest club in S.A. it was established 26 Feb 1962. We have had our highs and lows in membership high as 40 low as 7 we have 10 at the moment. Some of the other clubs in S.A. are brakeaways from Eastern Districts.

Northern District Rodders in Brisbane was Est.in 1976,have had a few up and downs but we have 70 members at the moment.We are just waiting to hear if our application for a grant from Jupiters Casino is successful so we can finally build our new Clubhouse,the current one was condemned years ago.We are doing a Time Capsule so once the old building goes we don`t lose all our history.We had a photoshoot yesterday and it was great to see so many members turned up.

Wow I was on the founding committee of this club, it was started because too many individuals were attending the Vic Street Machine Association meetings.

Hello peoples

Not sure why so many clubs have this pre 1947 rule. I'm not trying to push buttons just after an explanation.

I can understand that in the early days when someone modified an old car it was referred to a hot rod. Those hot rods from the 50's were cars from the 20's & 30,s. 20 to 30 odd year old cars. These days let's say my old truck is 60 years old and the only thing stock on it is the body and chassis yet I am un able to join a hot rod club. I still think that any old car that is hotted up is still a hot rod. The real early hot rods were cut down & fender less to lighten them up and bigger or modified engines to go faster. I have been doing the same with mine except removing the front guards. If it doesn't need to be on my truck it's coming of. If it needs to be on there I want it light as possible. Within reason that is and of course money. Sounds hotted up to me.

What category is a modified car from the 50's. Or even 60,s and 70,s.

I know a blown or turbo charged falcon or monaro etc is a street machine. But mine falls in a different category.

It's hard to find clubs when your stuck in the middle with a modified truck.

I have been looking for a club close to home in the blue mountains, nsw. Mainly for the fun of cruising with other modified vehicles and the network of information from each member. Unfortunately my friends are not into the modified vehicles and get bored with the car talk. Is there any clubs or group of people who get together and talk cars and cruise around in the blue mountains.

In the early days when I owned monaro's, torana's and early holden's and fords a all your friends liked cars as well but as I got older it seems every one around me grew up.

Looking at the Northern District Rodders photos shows the type of club I like.
We need more clubs like that.
You can't get bored with such a mix of different cars.

That`s about half the members turned up for the photoshoot. Even with that great variety it`s still hard to get a lot of them motavated.
