Also the black flamed 40 model is Charlie Seaburgs from Panania in Sydney, The 34 Hearse was Ernie Reardons from near st marys sydney back then, Ernie has the nice vanilla colored 34 roadster you see at valla. :) regards bill.
Thanks! I have gone and got my dads old magazines - look out for some old Nationals shots coming soon - and some are in colour. Found some shots of the T with the motorcycle front wheels....

Lucky girl! Tweety pie got repainted in the 1970s and I have it now - some mods to it but it is definately the same car as many of the rodders at Valla confirmed this year. Sadly it doesnt have the front end it used to (no brakes) as it got in trouble with the RTA in the 70s and Kevin changed it then but it still has the same paint job as in 1974 (which was after Kevin sold it). I might go to my dads tomorrow and fish out some old mags with it in it...and scan and post up.
Sorry, If you got Tweety pie in your garage right now your a Lucky girl! So the paint job on it now would be silver with blue flames? Back in the early 70s when Kevin had it, it was a lime green colour & then he changed it to silver with flames with the wire wheels up front. I remember it was a cover car in an issue of Aust. Hot Rodding Review back then. Been tryin to find that issue but cant locate it just yet. Cool car 8)

Hey uted1 & finkster. Here's a pic of the T shirt I bought at the 77 Nats.
Image
Bought it on the sunday when they had the run to Griffith. Has'nt got Narrandera printed in big letters, but the road map under the three rods has got Narrandera marked on it, meaning all roads lead there. I will have to stop wearing it & keep it as a collector's item. Would'nt get another one now.
And here's a random item of interest my Wife got me from a Salvo's shop.
Image
A pair of shorts or bather's that have the Clay Smith cam logo all over them. Would'nt be to many of these around I would imagine, only ones I have ever seen.

Hey Fliptop, the NSW Home of the Nationals tee shirts were produced by the NSW Street Rod Committee to raise funds. Whilst I don't have my entrants shirt from 77 any more, I thought it was yellow with green motif, but not 100% sure, the brains a little hazy, too long ago.

Hi Rod. Looks like a studebaker motor or olds motor there, but it did end up with 350 chev out of a HQ GTS according to a magazine article I read. The colour pics I had seen of it seemed to show it up as a lime green, but it was obviously yellow, silly me. When I saw it at the 75 Nats it was silver with blue flames.

Hi Cool 32. When me & my mates went to the 77 Nats,(Traction Rod & Custom club members) I dont think any of us entered, we just went, so I didnt end up with the proper Entrants T shirt. But the T shirt I pictured is a pale yellow or cream colour.

Hi Guys
Ok someone was asking about the Green Roadster in the Yellow Tweety pie shot.
First, Tweety Pie was running a Studebaker V8 in the photo.
The Blue Chevy Roadster belonged to Mike Sainsbury.
The Green A Roadster belonged to Terry Cook
The Black 40 Sedan was Charlie Seaburg
The Greyish 32 Tourer was Kevin Murphy's
The Black A Tourer was Doug Pross'
The Blue Channeled 32 Sedan was Dennis Millet and was rumoured to have been cut up and thrown to the Tip

At least I don't have Altzheimers, even if I can't spell it right !!!!

And here is the same Tweety Pie at Coffs Harbour in 1972 when it rained all weekend and yes it now has a Chevy in it.
Image

If you ask Kevin Griffiths what car did he drive to the first Coffs Rod Run, he will deny travelling in a 60's Fiat Sedan but I was in the car with him :D
