Just to illustrate how the Crown oil filter is mounted, I posted this on another thread but I thought it would be useful here as well:

You can clearly see the tubes running back from where the oil filter would have been mounted at the front.
Yeah. I've changed my signature. The old one was out of date...

Thanks to all, I have the custom mount made by "Sudsy" (thanks Bob) which I will copy in reverse so it points back; busy with the front suspension and steering at the mo but will get to it soon. Might even embarrass myself and post a few piccies of he story so far in the next couple of weeks.

Cheers

I am not very Ford-aware (yes, on a hot rod forum  ), would these fit a Clevo?

remote filter adaptors will work on clevo too, same principle as the windsor.. just moves the filter to a different location in a tight space application.

Has anyone used one of the oil relocation kit?
http://www.speco.com.au/acccoolers.html
My understanding the ford/toyota units are pretty much the same.
Why I throw this up there is if you have to make or buy a plate you still need the adapter to screw in the oil filter so you effective have to buy 2 things.

The other information I found is the 2uz is the same as the crown 1uz, and it typically has a oil relocation already in place and can be had from toyota for under $100. Though this unit runs steel pipes back to the side of the engine (unsure if this will be ok for my sc400 1uz)

I need put a relocation kit inplace as its fouling on my rack, I am wanting my engine as far forward as possible.

cheers

The filter mount you describeis known as a Crown rear filter set up fits all 1/2 & 3UZ's.

Best bet is to join Lextreme and post up a WTB and see what turns up.

There are quite likely dozens sitting in people's garages around Oz.

Dave all you need is a bit of alloy plate cut it to shape drill your mounting holes then drill and tap your oil feed holes to 3/8 NPT or BSP and run flex lines to a remote filter housing which are easily available

I modified those pipes/tubes to take press on fittings and relocated the filter mount where i could using hi-temp oil line. Alternatively land cruiser 2UZ uses a remote filter as well, available from Toyota Australia.

Rod, good to see you made it over to the dark side. Cheers mate. 8)
my favourite colour is chrome.

How about an update Chuckles. You seem to have gotten the problem solved and then disappeared. Dave

Because due to some really nice extractors, it looks like MY 1UZ (Crown) oil filter "kit" will be available.
Again, see the picture above. What I have is what is in the picture.
PM me if interested.
