Door latches

Post by jim »

I was just wandering what type of door latches do people use. I need them to be very narrow for my 1927 T model. From which model car are best suited ?

Thank you,

Jim.

VW Golf and Rabbit have some latches that are only just over an inch wide, ideal for thin doors.
People who think they know it all, bother those of us that do.

Well if its glass, then you can use the real small bear claw latches.. If its steel then the larger ones are the go, still quite small and they would be around an inch deep.( Hot Rod Hardware have them both) If you want junk yard ones, I looked at early Hondas and they would be OK too. Just go down to your local free range junk yard with a tape and you might be surprised. Jim, since you live in Sydney I could pop one of the larger bear claws out of my 37 so you could try it...just send me a PM.
See ya on the road or at a run somewhere!
