Early Aussie racing history Rob Roy & others
I've recently come across an estate with 3 vintage/veteran cars , my friend father took all these photo's
He processed them himself
The first photo is of Ron Davis in his Nazzaro after he restored it , it was sold of to a W.A museum in the 70's & still there apparently
But a different owner

this is what he dragged out of from under a tree
Uploaded with ImageShack.com
These photo's are from 1949 at Rob Roy , I even have his racing license from 49/50
Uploaded with ImageShack.com
I took these photo's to Jeff Dutton this morning , jeff said he would have been there aged 2-3 years old
That body would have been hand formed in the Dutton workshop in Richmond

Absolutely brilliant photos.
We usually get a few photos and report from RR each year but these photos, and the promise of more ( ) have me leaning in for a closer look.

Here's a few of his restoration of the Zenerro , that's Peter the son in front , his dad used to do all the car rallies upto the early 80's when he stopped driving the Dedion . I took the photo's to Jeff Dutton yesterday as there was a photo of his uncle Bill

Here's some more racing stuff ,
But first a quick story
Ron Davis put a set of Bugatti wheels up for sale .
Reg Hunt rings up buys them sight unseen , price was $500
A cheque arrives in the mail for $2000 , Reg thought he meant $500 each x 4
Ron wanted $500 for all 4 wheels
More scanning to do , I'll be back with more

Great pics - interesting to see one of Stan Jones in the HRG - never seen a shot of that before; only ever the Maybach. The Jones family might not even have pics of it.
No signature yet, still working on it. Bit like the Roadster, really!

Once I've scanned all the photo's , they'll be donated to "The Vintage Car Club "
The history of the Nezerro will be sent to the current owner of the vehicle in W.A
Just a few more of the 1970 Sydney to Melbourne Rally
Thanks guy's , lots more scanning to do

Brilliant stuff. Great to see some of the historic hill climbers and early shots of some of the veterans. The hill climb shots also portray the ingenuity of many of the 'specials' builders. If there's any more please post 'em.

Valuable stuff. BTW Are shots duplicated? Slow going.
I drove up Mt. Tarrengower recently- that's a helluva climb, fast & treacherous. The boys in the garage at Maldon have some good old local shots on the wall from Maldon/ Tarrengower.
God I love that little '07 Isotta- Fraschini.
