Hi Mate, IMHO, those Charger sports wheels with thin white walls and chrome nuts, chrome centre and chrome dress rim and the Val looks excellant. I had a black one back in 74, top job. Richo.

First bath out of the way , and still the old tyres . Today it was off to get a new exhaust , we did like the straight out extractor sound and we did get some looks driving it to the shop . Picked it up this afternoon and the guys from unique exhaust did a fantastic job , all tucked up high and a great sound

Of all the times to see a highway patrol car , at least it was on the way home after the exhaust was fitted , got a look and a smile so all good :D

WOW, I'd be (almost) scared to use it. What a fantastic project.

Thanks for the comments guys , just a few things to do before roadworthy cert and club rego then start cruising . Front bumper is going on tomorrow but the grille and headlight surrounds are still getting anodised and will be some time off yet .
when are you going to finish it?

Nice job Ratty. I had to smile at the highway patrol shot. I gather you were on a permit. A wonder you were not pulled over. In 2017 I was driving a 63 Falcon Futura Convertible back from a RWC inspection ,a Highway Patrol car heading in the opposite direction just about did a hand brake turn and came flying up beside me and directed me to pull over with the male passenger calling out "to check the permit" that was clearly displayed. Checked my licence,[ never had any form of ticket for 25 years] then the female driver wants to" check numbers" . WTF. The description on the permit was a 1963 Green Ford Falcon Convertible sitting in front of her, how many others are around? . When I told her with surprise that "understandable if a silver Commodore and a permit could be slapped on hundreds of others, anyway one number is on the door plate, and the other on the tower brace" . When I proceeded to open the bonnet, after pointing to the door plate that she did not read, she says "No need ,ok" . The male officer standing back was somewhat amused. I think I had struck a female with a new member she was impressing by training. You must have copped a vehicle heading back to the station for lunch. . I look forward to seeing the Val out and about as I am not far from you.

A bit of a milestone this week , passed rwc with flying colors and then off to vicroads for my club rego . Mounted the front bumper bar that needed a lot of reworking and wasn’t really happy with the fit so scored another one which appears to be straight so off to the platers next week .Still waiting for the grill ,trim , headlight surrounds to come back then it should be finished , have a lend of some old ones at the moment .For now I will drive it whilst waiting for the parts and get the engine run in :D :D . Of course all the events have been cancelled around here but the petrol is cheap so can cruise where I want .
