robtus wrote:Question, how close to the throttle body does the IAT have to be ?? Mine is in the air-filter box about 400 mm away. Also, where is your hose for the crankcase breathing ??
I have mine the same distance from the throttle body, but underneath, as pictured. The closer it is to the throttle body, the more accurate the reading of the actual air temp going into the engine will be.

Anyway you can rotate the IAT 90* so it isn't so obvious sticking up like that?
I noticed you have changed your fuel rails too. You don't still have the stock ones I could buy do you?
You can have them. I threw them on top of the garage roof where I keep all my "junk" that I just can't seem to throw out. I'll grab them and clean them up. Call me.
Awesome, much appreciated. :)

Yes. I turned it around so that you could see it in the pic.

They are Edelbrock hi flow rails with -8 ORB ends instead of the quick connect type. I got them in a bundle with the rocker covers, coil relocation plate, hurst shifter and scan tool I bought from an abandoned project in the ACT. You can get the fuel rails from Summit, or get the red anodised ones from Aeromotive, and a few more. They are pretty cheap and easier to set up for a FPR than using the factory stuff.

Should work out perfectly as be picking up my coil covers from the powders coaters this week too. So can do the swap while everything is apart.

Not much has been happening during the cold weather. I'm waiting for a warm spell to finish the paint, but in the meantime, I'm doing fiddly things like sealing the hole in the firewall for the steering column, tidying up wiring, stuff like that. The one issue I am fighting is the start signal from the PCM. I still can't get the engine to fire because the PCM isn't giving me injector pulses because (I think) the Shifter module isn't talking to the PCM on the CAN BUS to tell it we are in Park or Neutral.
I spoke recently to my mate at Autotech and he's made a house call to check my system, and is returning soon with his HP Tuner stuff and a better Scan Tool than I have to see what the issue is. Once I get this thing fired up and working, it will progress quickly.

Thanks for the update Choco. The electronic stuff is all voodoo to me. I hope you find a quick solution.

Hi Choco:
Does the engine crank when you hit the starter? If it IS the shifter module, I would have thought it wouldn't even try to crank?
Yeah. I've changed my signature. The old one was out of date...
