39Chev panel van

Post by pilot48 »

G,day everyone happy new year. Its about time I got around to starting a post. I have just started on our van that has been waiting since the mid eighties. you know how life gets in the way had to do a couple of rebuilds on the pilot in the meantime. plus a couple of other cars.
anyway to the point the plan is jag front and rear ls1 and trans out of a sv8 and as much of the commodore as possible. here's a couple of picks of when we picked it up way back ImageImageImage thats a start more next year.

The floor mounts or "hats" for the rear end trailing arms were and should still be available new . They are a rust repair item .

Wow, I have the same 39 turrant top panelvan at home, yours is the only other I have seen.
Holdens used the 38 style body's for most of 39 and at the end of 39 they started producing the turrent top body with the larger metal presses.
Can't wait to see yours on the road.
