I have been pondering the question about how do you keep your original mechanical speedo when you upgrade to a newer electronic transmission/engine system that has VSS or Canbus.
I think I have the gauge situation sussed out using a 12 v to 6 v converter.
Has anyone else done this, what solution did you use?
I came across this when I was looking at Speedhut Speedos web site. Has anyone used one of these and is it good?

Re: Original Mechanical Speedo with electronics
6V solid state regulator for the gauges is no prob. What is driving the sender unit at the transmission ? Does it use a conventional gear ? . I have gone the reverse converting a cable unit to electronic sender . An adaptor with sender unit took the original gear and pushed in as the cable did .
