Opinion/Advice building 350 SBC for kroozn on straight GAS

I had an old HZ statesman with a 308 in it, I did well over 200,000ks in this on LPG, no stainless valve guides.
I loved my statesman so much when it died, not the motor just the car, I transplanted the 308 into the next one.
I did have to do the bearinigs and rings, but when I had the heads checked the guy at the machine shop told me I was waisting his time.
Just goes to prove you don't need a built a gas motor to enjoy hassel free driving.

Yep, that's about what I figured too.... worked for me more than a few times. Might be different of you were trying to extract the last ounce of performance...but for general use it doesn't seem to matter all that much.

Just like most of us, the valve seats 'Harden Up' over time.

I'm running a 307 chev balanced blueprinted done 176000 miles on straight gas standard valve seats and never had a drama only way to go really

I heard from one of the Albury Rodgers who went to Valla this year that some of the gas guys had to plan their trips carefully due to the reduced number of outlets who still have gas.

You can carry a spare bottle of gas.
All you need is the fitting to do the job.

Any post 74 SBC from the US will have hardened valve seats to cope with the intro of ULP anyway.
