Definitely improve the brakes. Even driving yourself aware Of deficiencies and leaving a safe gap to the vehicle in front will have some moron darting in, and they then suddenly apply the brakes to slow down.

Re: WOW...must be a new record....
The problem with leaving a safe gap is....some dunger will always jump in it and take it away (or stop )....so you drop back some more....and same thing again.....keep doing that long enuff and pretty soon you're back where you started from (home)... Seriously tho, gap stealing is a big problem, especially if you're in a truck or carrying a load of some sort and you're trying to be careful about braking space.....

Re: WOW...must be a new record....
I dont have the problem of 'Gap stealing' when I'm out in the bucket. People have pulled over to let me pass rather than have me behind them.
What I do get is the occasional driver in front who slows down while he's looking at me in the rear mirror instead of looking ahead. We get progressively slower till he suddenly wakes up and accelerates away. I may be indirectly responsible for a rear ender one day.
Traffic lights are a buzz, everyone sits and waits for me to go first, like I'm going to do a wheelstand or something.

The older I get, the more everyone else can bite my arse.
