I got the 8.8 rear in... I will be using 28x11.50 Mickey Thompson ET Street's on the rear. This is the set I have for when I'm driving my 41 race car on the street. These tires fit without any modification to the body or frame. I did have to modify the lower spring plate. The original axle tubes were 3" diameter, and the 8.8 has 1-1/4 tubes, so the new U bolts wouldn't fit.

A little update... I got the engine and trans joined up. I will be fabricating a crossmember and engine mounts soon.
