MARSHAL LIGHT traffic signals
had a chap ring today i had not spoken to for about 35 yrs
he has 4 marshal light traffic signals he got when they were pulled down in Melb
those old enough will remember them like a round clock face (without numbers) and from memory the red/amber/green on faces of them
they have a white pointer which slowly rotates bit hard to explain i asked him to send me some pics to put up here
he worked for brunswick then clifton hill council so i dare say thats where they came from
they took them out as people would speed up to beat them changing
im trying to snaffle one dont ask me why withall my crap i already have
i rang him back he doesnt use computers and doesnt have mobile with a camera???? hes 95 by the way i may have to get a mate who lives in the west go take some pics for me

Re: MARSHAL LIGHT traffic signals
Yep that would be right. Nepean Hwy along that stretch from Brighton down had the last of them. On one hand you could be sensible and adjust speed to slow enough without stopping and then hit the intersection when the arrow got into the green and the lights changed, the other hand would have folks speeding up before the green ran out into the shorter amber segment, so as not to stop. Trying to remember now if the amber segment was actually more of a yellow colour. Just as an edit I clicked on the link provided and yep my memory holds ,were more yellow.

I had a genuine PMG clock my dad had was about 6foot tall i gave to a "mate" 5 yrs ago only to find out he sold it on for a big quid was a pendulum type from telephone exchange in nth melb my dad was the boss of as supervising technician
very disappointing
i also gave a few members here lots of bits and pieces like banjo steering whls etc later to be sold off not a great feeling and i might add very hurtful

Re: MARSHAL LIGHT traffic signals
...yeah, same here. Some of it showed up in the For Sale page here, some on Ebay too... Even sent some small stuff to blokes for free and paid the post too, amazing how few of them bothered to say thanks. Did a number of small jobs for blokes on here to help them out when they were struggling, found out I was being shitcanned behind my back by some for my efforts.Funnily enough, I eventually learned to stop doing thatpilot Dave wrote: i also gave a few members here lots of bits and pieces like banjo steering whls etc later to be sold off not a great feeling and i might add very hurtful
