Re: Cleveland oil filter
As Scott pointed out Z89A will work just fine.
It is about half the length of the Z9 filter - it is used in many applications including V8 Jeep Cherokee.
The Z418 oil filter is even smaller again than the Z89A - used in many common applications including V8 land cruisers.
I have the Z418 in my A coupe for many years with no issues

Re: Cleveland oil filter
G'day Monte,
The Ryco site will allow you to search by dimension:
https://www.rycofilters.com.au/
When I punch in a Z9 filter, it has a 70mm seal diameter, and a 3/4x16 thread. Those are the critical dimensions... the diameter and height less so. When I search for those dimensions, you get these options:
Ryco Part Height Overall Seam Diameter
Z103 140mm 77mm
Z115 140mm 94.5mm
Z131A 140mm 77mm
Z170 95mm 96.2mm
Z37 140mm 77mm
Z38 137mm 96.5mm
Z380 169mm 92.4mm
Z62 121mm 77mm
Z63 121mm 77mm
Z640 153mm 95mm
Z68 121mm 77mm
Z73 140mm 77mm
Z89A 95mm 96.2mm
Z9 137mm 96.2mm
Cheers,
Harv

Re: Cleveland oil filter
yes, the original short version of a Z9 was the Z10 used on 2litre Escorts and Cortinas but Ryco has now superseded it to the Z89A..
