Been a very long time since I've jumped onto the forum (hearing the passing of Dave has prompted me to :( ).
Life's been crazy since moving house in 2016 (inherited a crazy neighbor form hell), works gone mental... then the dreaded covid.... now we have a grandson came along. Lifes hectic.

Be a real shame for the forum to close down. There's a huge library of really important information and inspirational work on here. Even just the moral support when projects get tough to keep working away. Forum was a lifeline for me on my projects when i was first setting out in hotrodding.

I'm not even remotely tech savy enough to offer to take over :(
Cheers,
Steve

Yeah mate. I hear what you are saying, specially the forum history. There is a heap of great info that the newby's could use (to save them making the same mistakes as us - and then probably giving up).

I was on another forum today (Car related) that is active and encouraging.
Always new members popping up with questions. Yes, some post, get an answer and never come back. But most stay when they realise they can keep getting info they need, and then contribute when they have sucessfully carried out a repair (etc) with knowledge they have gained through the forum.

I'd also hate to see all those great how-to pictures disappear into the "ether".
Yeah. I've changed my signature. The old one was out of date...

I messaged Dave last week and got a reply that he was still in touch with someone in USA and had hopes to keep it alive.

I hope Dave can manage to keep the Forum alive, there is so much interesting information that might be lost. Cheers Pato

I must confess that I have started checking in here again, for a long time I was just looking at the facebook version. There is SO much good info in these pages, it would be a crime to let it go.

Cheers

I also follow the builds on here but don't contribute like I used to. I agree with Graeme, there is a lot of useful info on here and I suppose all us lerkers should contribute more.

Its a shame when you hear of people losing access to the forum and not being able to get back on, and new member applications that cant seem to be processed. If just these two issues could be resolved the forum would come back to life.

From what I've heard there was a chosen one that put his hand up and was accepted to take over the forum, but the issues appear to be with the US hosting/administration access or something like that and a handover process died off and hasn't happened.

I know that offer to take over the forum would still stand, please don't let this amazing forum die of a slow death.
