Re: Ozrodders Forum Future
Well, I am still here.....
Helloooooo?
As others have said, I am too, willing to kick in to keep it alive.
There are is a LOT of excellent material on here, written by blokes who have done it - first hand!
Not to mention links to many many many invaluable pictures.
I have said on numerous occaisions that someone more talented than I could/should publish a book on some of the magnificent projects herein.
I am sure you can all name quite a few!
It would be a shame to lose that reference data.
And, of course, lose the contact with all the good members and people that help those less talented, out of the goodness of their own hearts.
But reading back through this thread, there IS a way. There have been offers of various aspects of the forum, which put together would easily keep it alive.
Where do I donate?
Jeff.
PS: On Facebook: I have a login but don't use it. It is a privacy issue. No, not privacy from lurkers and so-call friends (although that IS an issue) but knowing what Facebook does with your personal data, the way it collects and collates seemigly random data to compose a dosier of every member. That is supposed to be used (only...) for targetted advertising. Yes, sure...
Its none of their business!

Yeah. I've changed my signature. The old one was out of date...

Oh and while I am on my soapbox, counting back over the thread so far, there has been way more than enough money pledged to pay Dave's costs.
Yeah. I've changed my signature. The old one was out of date...

Re: Ozrodders Forum Future
Unfortunately we haven't heard back from Dave , and he's probably the only one who can do anything .
Ozrodders on facebook is no better than here , same with Ozerodders on facebook as that is a fizzer there also .
This forum is a wealth of info , also a place where i have made quite a few good friends and it would be such a shame for it to die .

To be fair to Dave, he has said the money is a side issue for now, he is trying to get the tech side sorted. No use offering money if that can’t be resolved first. Hope it does stay, has great content and people. And yes, I too am more than happy to put my hand in my pocket when it comes to that.

Re: Ozrodders Forum Future
True. But I think it will be even harder to find someone who is tech savvy on this side of the pond to get it set & running, then keep it that way.

Re: Ozrodders Forum Future
This is interesting comment from Zuffen about the Ozrodders Forum Future.

I know Sudsy is on another Forum I'm locked out of.
I wasn't banned just the Forum owner can't moderate the Forum and there was a glitch and I dropped off the board.
I was supposed to take over ownership in May but the US connection is being painfully slow in making the transfer.
I have another contact who is on the Forum and I'll see if he can do anything.

Re: Ozrodders Forum Future
That's interesting , i wonder if Zuffen has made arrangements with Dave or the US owner to take the forum over .
In the first post in this thread by Dave he did say the cutoff would be in or around May , and we are still here .
So maybe something is happening behind the scenes ?
