My wife, (Kaylene) and I hosted a meet for our local chapter of the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club this past Saturday. We had between 35-40 guests. Most were locals from a 50 mile radius, but we had three that drove up from San Diego, (100 miles), and three who flew in for it, from 400, 500, and 1400 miles respectively. We started at 10:00 am with coffee and donuts. Kaylene made Parmesan Chicken, and her locally famous potato casserole for lunch. We asked the guests to bring a side dish or dessert to share, and they came through with baked beans, a green bean and bacon casserole, baked macaroni and cheese, a pasta salad, and cold fruit trays. The dessert table was overflowing with a cake, cupcakes, brownies, cookies, and pies. We provided sodas and bottled water. If anyone went home hungry, it was their own fault. We promoted the event as including a non walking historical tour of Riverside (California) and surrounding area. This consisted of a slide show presentation and oration done by Kaylene. She dug up some pretty cool photos and stuff, including 1950’s photos of the two Hudson dealerships in town, and crime scene photos of the Wineville chicken coup murders of 1928, which happened nearby. Clint Eastwood produced and directed Angelina Jolie in a movie about it, called The Changeling. I will post more pictures in the comments below.

You have done something that I never can! I live on a unit sized block and would freak out trying to organise something like this.

Glad you got a good turn out and it all went well. :)
