T Ford body fitment

Can anybody help with a diagram or schematic for a 27 T Ford body to chassis fit. Not sure how to explain what I mean, other than where the body fits longitudinally on the chassis. Possibly where the cowl is bolted to the chassis, or centre of rear wheel well to rear chassis crossmember.

is it a sedan /coupe /or rdstr ??? and are you using a model T chassis ???reason i ask is every one i have seen built has used a min of model a chassis up to a 32 chassis
i had dozens of pics when building mine on here with plenty of pics of chassis and running gear

Do a Google image search for '1927 Model t Ford Chassis Dimensions' and select the most appropriate images on there for your needs.

Personally, I save them onto a thumb drive and then go to Officeworks and print the diagrams out in A3.

Another point to remember is that these Fords had lots of body styles that often were made from the same base ie a chassis with running gear and a cowl. From there, it could end up a roadster, sedan or whatever.

There is plenty of information on the internet to join the dots.

Further to my post above... Its a 27 Coupe body and a T chassis (unknown year, how can I work that out.?). I guessed the cowl of each body style would be in the same position on the chassis.??

ok with ya now i used a mod a chassis
this may or may not help CLEVELAND SPARES in Melbourne has/had a model t coupe for sale looks like body just sitting on the frame with a flatty mounted if you contact them or can swing by their place you may get some up close views or pics
i didnt look close enough to see what frame he was using
it was on ebay on friday i havent been on there since

I still have a pair of these brackets.
They are 8 & 1/2" long, firewall mount holes are 3/8" square x 4 & 3/8" apart, lower holes to sides of chassis are 1 & 1/2" apart x 3/8"

Many thanks for all your replies. I checked the 'WWW' out pretty thoroughly before asking. There are a lot of different ideas and measurements out there. (Up to 3 inches difference on some). I think I have it sorted now.

Just curious olfrt, what did you find was the problem? I'm a T Ford fan, and there might be others out there building a T Ford that find this problem in the future who might learn from what you've found

Hi Steve. The body I have doesn't have any body mounts. I bought the chassis and body seperately. With the info you gave me, and a lot more 'net' searching I have managed to find enough info to get the body in the right place to start setting engine etc in their correct (?) positions. The amount of contradictory info is huge. Some sites give measurements up to 3 inches out. I am going to use a Jag diff, so have to 'zee' the frame which is the next obstacle. Why you can do one thing in one state of Australia, and not in another confounds me. Then when registered or permitted, you can drive them anywhere anyway. I have ordered the cowl (firewall) mounting brackets, (I couldn't get enough info on their dimensions to make them, their only $40) which puts things in the right place to start. Thanks for your help.

Yes Olfrt, I found it's really frustrating building a hot rod, my main project is a 27 T tourer. A lot of info out there is BS and I bought a lot of parts that Ive decided not to use, I don't like all this regulations business, it takes away the look your trying to achieve, when it's finished I want to stand back and feel I'm looking at something straight outa 1964 not 2023. Im just gonna build it my way and trailer it everywhere, I'm building it to please myself not some white collar bureaucrat in a government department

if building a T in traditional style it shouldnt have any problem with rego in mine there is nothing used on it made after 1953
thats why i was trying to help by saying the build is on here from years ago
my cars are always on full rego nothing less
i had a few mint panels i mentioned on here a while ago i would have donated to anyone building a T noone wanted so i dumped them to the triangle
