Nationals 2023 Clarendon Showgrounds NSW

Post by Mudgy »

Hi everyone,
I went out today and met Pete Gough, and some new friends.

Here's a few images taken over the day. Good weather, and the showgrounds are a large space.

Thanks for showing the photos. Glad the weather is on your side as been raining down here in VIC causing the cancellations of some events.

I also attended the Nats.

A good collection of vehicles. Whilst not all were to my taste a lot of them were just outstanding.

A few photos of the day. Some may duplicate Mudgy's.

This one is at least 10 years old as it was at Motorex in 2013

Flames were popular

A T bucket just yells Hot Rod!

Image

How could I not include a yellow vehicle?

Image

I like Rods from the 30's in 30's colours. Something about how it may of been in the day.

Image

This was drop dead gorgeous. Masses of work in it.

Image

Imagine sitting on top of this to drive?

This!

Enough for tonight. I have around 100 more to come.

Not bedtime yet. Better keep going.

I think this was forced induction row. The closest Bucket had a turbo Barra in it. Sort of didn't work with the intercooler in front of the grille.

Image

This colour just works for me.

I loved this little number.

Image

There were a few cars with rear wheel spats. Interesting twist.

Not sure if you can read this but it says made with spanners not chopsticks.

The proportions of this didn't work for me.

More.

Image

No idea what was under the bonnet but the wheels aren't me.

I thought the bike in the back of the Ute was cool until I realised it was a push bike make to look old. Well done, sucked me in for a while.

Image

I don't think these size wire wheels work on a Rod and there were two fo them parked side by side?

Image

Image

The Elco with two sets of pipes each side looked a bit odd.

And more.

I'm not a Ford person, but I would drive either of these two. I don't care what's under the bonnet, they just appeal.

There were a few bikes there but not many.

This guy had a little help under the bonnet.

Finally you're thinking, the end!

Navaro heads are quite rare in the States so a set out here is super rare.

This dual cab missed the mark to me.

Rat Fink above the front number plate is hard to spot but a fun tough.

That's it. There were apparently over 700 vehicles there so this is less than 15% of them.

To save you doing your heads in trying to work out what the stunning red and white vehicle with USA36A rego is, it's registered as a 1968 Red Ford Galaxy Convertible. The rego check shows it as modified. Very.

G'Day Rod, thanks for the extra photos mate.
I was checking out that boat tailed job.. the badge on the top of the grille said "AUBURN"

Certainly a few gadget vehicles out there.

Cheers, Mudgy

Mudgy,

I ran the rego number through Services NSW (you can check any number plate) and that's what it came up as.

I think the rear windows give away it isnt a production car. The fit just isn't quite right.

I'd say it's on the Galaxy chassis and is on full rego as a rebodied vehicle.
