Re: My next project
What was the purpose of all that firewall bog? Just to cover the imperfections where the rivets/spot welds are? It doesn't seem to have caused any issues, but best gone methinks

Re: My next project
Fred ,the reason I converted it to a ute in the first place was because the whole sedan body had 10 mm of filler over the entire body , so I guess it was used to match everything up . The firewall was nice and smooth but full of cracks .
when are you going to finish it?

Re: My next project
Ever had one of those days where most things turn to sh#t , today was mine . Spent the day trying to get the grill and front panels on so they can be put on and off individually not like how they were ,unable to get to half the nuts and bolts . Grill got a quick polish / clean , looks good from a distance but has some surface rust issues so may get a paint
when are you going to finish it?

Hi Chrisso , don’t know yet but probably paint them as the chrome is pretty well stuffed , just don’t know what color yet, unless I lash out and get them rechromed

Wouldn't spend the money for re-chroming.Get them sandblasted and paint a nice contrasting colour;red for instancerattyrod wrote:Hi Chrisso , don’t know yet but probably paint them as the chrome is pretty well stuffed , just don’t know what color yet, unless I lash out and get them rechromed

Re: My next project
Fred's idea is good one I got mine powder coated and they are just the ticket and it wasn't expensive $40.00 a rim including sandblasting.rattyrod wrote:Hi Chrisso , don’t know yet but probably paint them as the chrome is pretty well stuffed , just don’t know what color yet, unless I lash out and get them re-chromed

Re: My next project
Front all done , if anyone has some grill surrounds for a 41 chev in their shed next to the bag of rocking horse poo , I would be interested . Unfortunately 79 year old cast trim pieces tend to crumble and break with only the paint holding them together
when are you going to finish it?

Try Jeff Garland at Ray's Yankee Iron in Kyabram 0419 325475. He has a lot of old Chev stuff and bought Col Bradford's stock when he retired.
