My next project
Now that the valiant is finished and my job has finally succumbed to the virus I find myself with some spare time for once . After years of daily driving my 41 it started showing signs of a not so privileged life , so have decided to give it a bit of a facelift . Nothing over the top , will be keeping it filler free , dints where they are and matt paint .Rust will be removed by good friend Rod and windows resealed to keep the rain out , might even put some door rubbers in
when are you going to finish it?

Re: My next project
So in my last post I said the tail gate looked darker than what it was . Guess it doesn’t . I blame Jet , he said go a bit darker
Doing a section at a time due to time and lack of garage space and our Melbourne winter temps . It is an everyday work hack in every sense .
Fred I would love to know how many kms the old girl has done , some jobs I do about 120 km a day for months on end

Re: My next project
My door came back from Rods after some rust repairs , and after some adjustments to the sill which never matched the door contour after someone years ago replaced it with a straight section, a reasonable result was achieved. Whilst stripping the many layers of filler and paint coats off , I found some olive green as the first layer around the return frame edges , possibly an ex military / war effort when it was still a sedan
Welds all ground down and ready for .... paint
My coats of many colors
Welds look like poo but I prefer to do it as a series of spot welds to keep the heat down and reduce blowing holes eveywhere
First pass with the wire wheel
Then tidy up with the stripping disc
Military green perhaps
