Hotrodsteve's History
Now that I have this Photo posting thing sorted I thought I would do a bit of a history of my involvement with Rodding over the past 45 years from my own start point to random photos and comments on various customers cars I've been involved in over that time. If it gets too boring let me know. I can handle it.
My Father had an earthmoving business and the seed was planted from there.
My first foray into car building. Morris 8 chassis with Triumph Mayflower engine and box. I was about 15 then.
My VW road buggy was next along with various offroad buggies.
Around this time I started my apprenticeship and the need for speed set in.

Re: Hotrodsteve's History
Back in the day the speed was not that great and neither was an apprentices wages. My first drag car was an Anglia convertible with all the running gear out of my Grandfathers Mk 1 Zephyr. Even had two gearsticks like a Lenco. One for first and reverse and one for second and top gears. didn't have that for long and pulled it apart to build the next one.
Funny story with the Anglia is that I didn't have a bonnet. A complete mint condition sedan was located ,the bonnet removed and the rest went to the tip. Should have kept that one.
Next came the T Bucket powered by he mighty Grey motor fitted with a Datsun 1600 4 speed care of an adaptor that I made myself where I worked. No starter required just a pushbar on the back and a roobar on the ute. No worries
Went on to run a best of 12.3 with this one which was then sold off as marriage and a house took over.

Re: Hotrodsteve's History
Yeah wicked Hotrodsteve.........................super cool thread
I too love the exhaust work on the Wailer - I see you swiped the front runners off the buggy to go racing.
I am keen to see this thread unravel. Thanks for posting
